EDITED: Holy cats and kittens, a daily deviation! You'll have to imagine me doing a happy dance with a pulled back, with the accompanying Squeee being a touch higher pitched and less dignified than I might otherwise have hoped, but I'll live with that. It's going to take me a wee bit to get back to all your comments, but they are *very* much appreciated. Feel free to browse the rest of my work, and take a look at my journal for information on commissions.

Wallpaper requests: Folks, you have my permission to use this as a wallpaper - the original size is downloadable. You're also welcome to use it for *any* personal use. The same holds true for my other work, with the exception of commissions. If you wish to use my work in any other context, please drop me a note - I generally say yes, but I prefer to know where things are landing. Seeing some poster requests as well - DA prints work for that, I believe. I'm verifying that I set that up correctly, and if I didn't, it will be soon. (Yep, verified)

Promotional - because where better than to promote than on a DD! - I'm for hire, should you need an artist, coder, or audio engineer. Check out Wetdryvac.net For details and projects.

This was going to be a straightforward black and red ink image, but I ended up going with the inversion for two reasons - first because I don't have my white-box for shooting constructed yet, and second because this allowed for a much better control of areas in the paper where reflection wasn't even.

Shooting top-down meant getting the flash back in the face, and with uneven paper - this is blueprint paper, strangely enough - the inversion solved for most of the reflection blemishing.

Many thanks!

Most of my gesture work is bleeeegh too - what seemed to work for me on this one was just not caring about the lay of the lines and working quickly without getting ink on too much of the wall and floor. I... *shrugs* I suck at gesture work, mostly, and every now and then - one time in 50? - something like this happens. Watching people who can do stuff like this reliably every time amazes me no end.

So... gesture work - just go for it. I found that there was a definite correlation between how much of a mess I made (paint and ink on every surface) and how well a piece would come out. I hope one day to be able to create something like this without the need to repaint an entire room.
